Leave Out Violence (LOVE) was created to eliminate or reduce violence in the lives of youth and their community by initiating a movement consisting of youth spokespeople who will communicate a message of non-violence.

LOVE was started over 10 years ago because violence had deeply affected the life of a remarkable woman: Twinkle Rudberg. In 1972, a mugger in Montreal murdered her husband. To further compound the horror and senselessness of this act, the mugger was a 14 year old boy- both homeless and under the influence of drugs. So clearly this tragedy began long before he took the life of an innocent man.In response to this tragedy Twinkle focused her energies on the creation of an organization that would attack the root causes of teen violence - neglect, isolation, lack of mentorship and violence at home. Since its inception, LOVE has been a breakout phenomenon that has swept across Canada and is now spreading quickly in the United States. With the support of the Department of Education, the NYPD and other prominent New Yorkers LOVE has been up and running in New York City for 2 years.
